2026 Life Update: A Busy But Promising Year Ahead
Why 2026 Already Feels So Fast
This 2026 life update already feels like the year is flying by. How is it that we’re nearly 4 months in when January was actually yesterday?🤨 This whole time concept will forever baffle me. I’m also getting the sense that this year is jam-packed with change and overall busy’ness for so many of us. Unless that’s my self-centered mind thinking everyones life is like mine…I may need some introspection.
Starting My Masters And a New Job
I’ll be starting my masters course in September and I’ve already got a list of books to read in preparation
. And I know what you’re thinking, “But, Jessie, you read over 40 books last year alone, a reading list should be the easiest thing for you!”. Ordinarily you’d be right but in my pursuit of a more fulfilling life— and more money hehe— I’ve started an extra after school teaching job every Tuesday. The funny thing is I applied for this job last year but sadly missed the deadline. So this year the vice-principal reached out and encouraged me to try again this year (which so happens to be a million times busier than last year) and I got it; the lesson being- there ain’t not alterations when it’s God’s timing.
Juggling Teaching Across Three Schools
So all of that plus some really big life changes— which I’ll get more into detail with once I have the images to share, all good things I promise— means 2026 is gonna be one heck of a year!
We’re into our second week of the school semester and I feel pretty confident in the juggling act I’ve got going on. I now teach at 3 schools as part of my regular job so I really need to keep track of where each school is at in the syllabus, plus preparing every lesson for the after school job from scratch each week. Spreadsheets have become my new best friends! If I’m being honest, I’m not entirely sure how much longer I can stay this well organised and ahead of schedule. I tend to start dropping the ball around 3 weeks in (or when my luteal phase rears its ugly head).
A Busy Year That Still Feels Promising
All that to say, this year is going by real fast, is filled with STUFF and feels so very promising. I’m looking forward to sharing a lot more along the way.
