A Fun Summer Activity in Busan: Make Your Own Perfume!

With summer holidays just around the corner, many of us are either planning trips or looking for fun, local experiences to splurge on 😋. If you’re heading to Busan or already living there, here’s one unique activity I absolutely recommend: fragrance making!

Why Busan in Summer Is a Vibe?

Busan in the summer time is an absolute must! It’s the city of sunshine, and good vibes. So if you find yourself there, enjoying the beach or bars why not switch it up and try something creative too?

Make Your Own Custom Fragrance

This seemed to be a very popular couple activity among the Koreans but we had tons of fun in our little trio, too.

How it works (there isn’t really much to it):

Smelling all the different scents and debating which two make sense together and which don’t is where all the fun’s at. If at any point you need it the staff will happily advise you on which notes mix well or how to create a specific mood in your fragrance.

You’ll:

  • Choose your scent combo (we all chose Gwangali lol☺️ and I paired it with Hinoki)
  • Pick your bottle size
  • Measure out the drops
  • Let the staff mix it for you

At the end, you’ll label your new fragrance and wait about a week before using it (so it has time to settle properly). It’s simple, fun, and surprisingly calming. Plus, you walk away with a personalised perfume or room spray that you created.

Where to Go: ADoR Fragrance Studio (near Gwangali Beach)

The studio we went to was ADoR (address: 부산광역시 수영구 광안로49번길 74, first floor) and it’s just a few roads away from Gwangali Beach (easily walkable). We used Naver to make our reservation for 3 girlies.

Here are the details:
  • I chose the 30ml bottle, which cost 33,000.
  • They offer various bottle sizes and have a wide range of scents to choose from

Would I Recommend It?

100%! Whether you’re visiting Busan or looking for something new to try locally, this was a fun and affordable experience that felt a little special. Especially if you’re into scent, aesthetics, or just love a good DIY moment then you’ll definitely enjoy this.
